🐅 Rudyard Kipling’s masterpiece ‘The Jungle Book’ was inspired by the jaw-dropping jungles of the Indian National Park Kanha. The story revolves around wolf-reared boy Mowgli and his exciting adventures with many enchanting — and, at times, scary — animal characters. Like Shere Kahn the tiger.

🐅 Like everyone else who visits, I was keen to spot the elusive Royal Bengal Tigers of Kanha. After all, it’s why you come here! But the glorious variety of wildlife found within this 754-square-mile park also includes elephant, leopard, hyena, sloth bear, wild boar, python and nearly 300 species of birds. Dedicated birdwatchers, as well as photographers, will have a splendid time here.

🐅 In the forests of India’s magnificent Kanha National Park, however, Shere Khan still rules.

🎈Last September, I celebrated a milestone birthday, one whose primary purpose was to signal, unequivocally, that I am firmly in the middle of middle-age. Rather than plan a simple weekend getaway or buy a Porsche (although both sounded extremely appealing), I organized an epic four-and-a-half-month tour-de-force through Asia. December 2022 thru April 2023. Alone.

🎈Gently, I broke the news to my husband. Mike thought it was too much for too long. Maybe. But this particular birthday served as a stark reminder that there’s a lot left in the world that I want to see, explore, do, discover — and time is ticking away.

🎈As I write this post, I’ve just returned home from London and am now packing for the Cayman Islands. “London,” you might be thinking to yourself. “I thought you just said you were in Asia?” Almost always, I fall way behind on social while traveling. I find it very challenging to be fully present AND write engaging content, curate photos and so on and so on. Anyone who tells you travel — or travel blogging — is easy is not telling you the truth. And I have a lot more to say on that later.

🎈Last September, I celebrated a milestone birthday, one whose primary purpose was to signal, unequivocally, that I am firmly in the middle of middle-age. Rather than plan a simple weekend getaway or buy a Porsche (although both sounded extremely appealing), I organized an epic four-and-a-half-month tour-de-force through Asia. December 2022 thru April 2023. Alone.

🌹 A must do in London is spending time in one of the city’s historic pubs. Built way back in 1750, The Churchill Arms is known for its exuberant floral displays and is often described as London’s most colorful pub.

🌹 Previously known as Church-on-the-Hill, Winston Churchill’s grandparents were regular visitors, which led to its renaming after World War II. Inside, you’ll find cozy seating, eclectic decor, along with a good selection of lagers and ales that change with the season, as well as an extensive gin, wine and whiskey list.

🌹 Pro tip: Show up hungry! One of the best kept secrets in London is the amazing Thai food served here. If you only have time for one pub, this is it. Cheers, y’all! x Sandy.

👑 Its weight requires eight horses (traditionally Windsor Greys) to pull it. Spectacularly featured on Saturday, 6 May 2023 at the Coronation of King Charles III, those horses were Icon, Shadow, Meg, Milford Haven, Echo, Knightsbridge, Newark and Tyrone. Here, the newly-crowned couple return to Buckingham Palace following the ceremony at Westminster Abbey. No one does pomp and circumstance quite like the British, y’all 👑.
